Syed Kabir is a Northwood resident, business leader, educator, entrepreneur, and community volunteer with more than 15 years of leadership experience across financial services, business, education, media, and community organizations.
He holds an MBA from Lakehead University and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Windsor. Throughout his career, Syed has focused on leadership, financial responsibility, strategic planning, and delivering results.
Today, Syed serves as a District Manager with H&R Block Canada, leading multiple offices across Northwestern Ontario and overseeing teams, budgets, operations, and performance. He has also held senior leadership roles with the Da Vinci Centre, Italian Cultural Centre, and The Chronicle-Journal.
Syed’s community involvement includes serving on the Thunder Bay Public Library Board, the City of Thunder Bay’s Community Communications Committee, and as President of SHIFT: Thunder Bay’s Young Professionals Network.
Having previously run for Northwood Ward Council, Syed has spent countless hours listening to residents and learning firsthand what matters most in the neighbourhood.
He is running to bring experienced, practical, and accountable leadership to Northwood — focused on smart spending, safer neighbourhoods, reliable services, and responsible growth that benefits residents.
